Vermont CDL Requirements

To apply for a Commercial Drivers License, individuals must take the mandatory Vermont CDL examinations. Applicants must be 21 years old or 18 years old if all of their driving is within Vermont and they are not transporting hazardous materials or drive double or triple trailer rigs.

Individuals must also possess a valid medical certificate in accordance with MCSR regulations. Drivers can not hold a driver license from more than one state and certify that their driver license is not currently suspended, revoked or canceled in any state.
