In South Carolina, your local DMV and the
DMV website have information on CDL class licenses, endorsements, restrictions and more. For all the commercial driving information you need, pick up a Commercials Drivers Manual from your DMV or request that one is sent to you.
There are several requirements you must meet to secure your CDL, they include: being at least 18 years old to drive within the state, passing a medical exam according to federal guidelines and passing a written and skills test.
You may also apply the following endorsements to a CDL:
- H - Hazardous Material (Hazmat)
- N - Tanker Vehicle
- P - Bus Passenger
- S - School Bus
- T - Double/Triple Trailers
- X - Combination Hazmat and Tanker
