In Rhode Island there are several requirements you must meet to receive a CDL:

  • You must be at least 21 years old. You can receive a license valid for intrastate travel at age 18.

  • You cannot have licenses from other states, Mexico, or Canada.
  • You must be healthy enough to earn a medical examiner's card.
