In order to obtain your Delaware Commercial Driver’s License, you must have at least one year’s experience of driving. You must be at least 18 years of age to hold a commercial driving job, and over 21 to drive across state lines or carry hazardous materials. You must have a valid Delaware driver’s license. You’ll also be asked to provide proof of your identity and residency.

Once you’ve passed basic CDL written test, you’ll be eligible to take the road skills test, which include vehicle inspection, basic skills and on-road operation.
