In order to obtain your Connecticut Commercial Driver’s License, you must be at least 18 years of age to hold a commercial driving job, and over 21 to drive across state lines or carry hazardous materials. You must have a valid Connecticut driver’s license. You’ll also be asked to provide your social security card or a recent W-2 as well as supply a recent passport-sized photo and a medical certificate.
If you’re applying for a bus driver’s license, you’ll be required to undergo drug testing. Once you’ve passed basic CDL written test, you’ll be eligible to take the road skills test, which include vehicle inspection, basic skills and on-road operation.
