In order to obtain your Colorado Commercial Driver’s License, you must be at least 18 years of age to hold a commercial driving job, and over 21 to drive across state lines or carry hazardous materials. You must have a valid Colorado driver’s license. You’ll also be asked to take verify your social security as well as supply a medical certificate.
Once you’ve passed basic CDL written test, you’ll be eligible to take the road skills test, which include vehicle inspection, basic skills and on-road operation. In Colorado, this test is outsourced to private companies – contact the Colorado DMV for an updated list.
