California CDL Requirements

In order to obtain your California Commercial Driver’s License, you must be at least 18 years of age to hold a commercial driving job, and over 21 to drive across state lines or carry hazardous materials.

You’ll also be asked to take a vision test as well as supply a medical certificate and proof of age and name and pass a written test order to qualify for your practice permit. You then need to either pass a skills and driving test or submit Certificate of Driving Skill signed by both you and your employer.

For more information on obtaining your California CDL, visit the DMV website or find a California truck driving school in your area for CDL Training!
